Getting
to Know the World with Every Bite
iMpro, LLC is launching MyHATT (Hands across the table) a very unique
concept in hopes of spreading greater understanding and appreciation
for the people, cultures and traditions of countries all over the world.
Through monthly thematic dinner parties, local groups of family and
friends all over the world get together to celebrate, learn to understand
and appreciate and experience different cultures.
MyHATT is made up of people passionate about cooking, experiencing different
foods, learning about different cultures and sharing with others from
around the world. MyHATT researches and then provides
authentic menus from the featured countries, historical and cultural
information and all sorts of suggestions and games and even some language
words and phrases to make the evening's experience whatever you want
it to be. Each month is uniquely different giving everyone experiences
that are fun, educational and quite special in their own way.
There is even an
extensive children's section to get the kids involved from cooking to
games to quizzes to unique facts. There is truly something for everyone.
"We now live
in a global community, and yet in so many cases there is far too little
understanding, or even knowledge about our neighbors...", says
Jeff Gustafson, founder of MyHATT and President of iMpro,
LLC. MyHATT wants to change that, as they say, by "
getting
to know the world better one bite at a time
"
MyHATT is perfect for family and friends
as an educational project for
home or in the classroom
for building relationships among service
organizations, social groups
sister city awareness
mission
donor programs
church women's groups and "Circle of Eight"
and the list goes on.
For more information
and to become a part of MyHATT which is free to anyone
interested in experiencing the world in a unique and fun way, visit

rich in diverse cultures and traditions. "The food is wonderful

MyHATT Goes Frenchy
in March
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Spokane, WA: March
1, 2008. MyHATT (Hands Across the Table) is turning to France as its
featured country for the month of March. The food is spectacular and
it is displayed and enjoyed with such passion and the history, culture
and traditions are as rich as any country in the world. "We have
taken a little different approach this month by introducing our members
to the culture, the history, and traditions of the food of France itself,"
says Jeff Gustafson, MyHATT founder, "
as well as featuring
culinary delights that introduce tastes from several regions of France."
MyHATT is a dinner
club that encourages local groups to meet monthly for an authentic dinner
with family and friends focusing not only on a great authentic meal
but learning about the country and its people through their culture,
history and traditions - gaining awareness of the world around us. It
is great fun and educational as well.
MyHATT has been
spreading its wings since January this year when it first introduced
this "cultural awareness" concept by featuring the country
of Guatemala followed by Kenya in February. Organized and run for pure
enjoyment by a group of North Spokane, WA residents and Seattle-ites
that love to cook and travel and learn, MyHATT (Hands Across the Table)
has grown to Indonesia, Iraq, Holland, and Africa, as well as many areas
across the United States.
"This has been
nothing but fun from doing the research to testing the menus to writing
a daily blog and watching our membership grow," says one of the
MyHATT writers. "We are learning a lot and definitely enjoying
some wonderful food," she continues.
MyHATT is bringing
people from around the world closer together one bite at a time. For

Culturally Speaking
This is a Good Age
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Spokane, WA: April
4, 2008. Independent Media Professionals
MyHATT (which stands
for Hands Across the Table) is featuring the country of Holland in the
month of April. With the unique insight of a world class poet and gourmet
eel smoking chef, Robert Meijer (better known as 'Zwerver' in his homeland
of the Netherlands), MyHATT is taking its International Dinner Club
concept to new heights. Robert has not only added content but has willingly
shared experiences and passions of his own about his beloved country
to bring Holland to life.
MyHATT was started
by two senior citizens from Spokane, WA that love to cook and have a
passion for world culture. Having shared his family's home with over
35 exchange students over the years from virtually every corner of the
globe, Jeff Gustafson is living a dream through his MyHATT creation.
At 63, he is just beginning to enjoy life. Jeff shared his vision of
MyHATT with a good friend (also a spy senior of 70) Arlene Hawkinson
who has a history in catering, and childhood education and between the
two MyHATT has blossomed into a wonderful experience of taste and culture
"where the world gets smaller with every bite
" Authentic
menus every month that feature the taste of that region; a children's
section with games and quizzes and stories to teach about the featured
country; a wine section with the "Old Winer" (another senior
from Seattle) giving hints as to what to serve with the meal; as well
as some history, culture and traditions of the people that live in the
country. "We don't know what we don't know and through MyHATT,
we want to teach about other cultures," adds Arlene.
